Somewhere between your third tank and your
tenth, the hobby changes shape. What worked for one aquarium — a
filter here, a heater there, a bucket on water-change day — quietly
turns into a second job. The secret the fishroom folks know is that it
doesn't have to. Done right, every tank you add should cost less than
the last, not more. This month we look at how to get there: sourcing
glass for next to nothing, building racks that hold the weight safely,
running twenty tanks off a single air pump, and turning water changes
from a Sunday chore into something that happens on its own. Whether
you're eyeing your first rack or just tired of hauling buckets,
there's a cheaper, easier tank room waiting on the other side of a few
good decisions.
